Therapy Services
Individual & Couples Counseling
In the first session we will take time to understand what your goals are, as well as why you are motivated to make these changes now. We then collaborate to develop an individualized “road map” to wellness.
Inner Resource Counseling utilizes a combination of evidence-based behavioral therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, and CBT. For issues of trauma, grief and loss, you would discuss additional methodologies to support healing, such as EMDR, Narrative Therapy, and Attachment-Based Therapy.
Some of the primary tasks addressed in couples counseling are: cultivating healthy communication, fostering a “teamwork” mindset when taking on life’s stressors, and maintaining intimacy. These tasks are particularly important to attune to during significant life transitions such as becoming parents. Inner Resource Counseling is here to support your relationship stay anchored through whatever storms may come.
Neurodiversity Affirming
Every person’s mind/body system is different, despite our society privileging a neurotypical idea of “normal.” When thinking about the challenges associated with big life transitions, such as the transition to parenthood, we have to account for these differences in our therapy work. As a neuroaffirming therapist, I will support any parts of you still struggling to embrace your worth in the face of messages that you are either too much, not enough (or both) as you are. We will work to understand your unique sensory, emotional and relational needs in order for you to feel whole.
Online Counseling & In-Person
While face-to-face counseling can foster an intimate and safe place for therapy, it is important that people are able to access services when barriers to in-person therapy arise. Never has video therapy been more pressing than during the COVID-19 crisis. This is why Inner Resource Counseling offers HIPPA compliant online therapy services. Online therapy services are now covered by most (but not all) BCBS PPO and Choice insurance plans.
